Time delay switches (also known as time lag switches) switch ON the connected appliance for a pre-set length of time in order to save energy.

This reduces the impact of forgetting to turn off the lights, heating or ventilation.

These are energy-saving devices which help you turn ON or OFF the lighting, ventilation, or other loads when necessary.

Most of them have a way to set them up on a particular time delay; after you press the switch, the light will turn off after a certain period of time.
