This is the Hager Design VML202 Metal LA Consumer Unit 2 Way 63A Switch Disconnector Incomer, fully compliant with Amendment 3 to BS 7671:2008. This enclosure comes supplied with a full metal DIN rail, 63A switch disconnector incomer, and full complement of earth and neutral terminals along with marking labels, busbar and instructions.

Amendment 3 to BS 7671:2008

This Hager Design consumer unit complies to the 3rd amendment of the 17th edition, which specifies that the consumer units and similar switchgear assemblies within domestic (household) premises shall comply with BS EN 61439 3 and shall have their enclosures manufactured from non-combustible material, or be enclosed in a cabinet or enclosure constructed of non-combustible material and complying with Regulation 132.12 (see the third amendment to BS 7671:2008, 421.1.201). 

The third amendment to BS 7671:2008 was issued in January 2015 and is intended to come into effect on 1st July 2015. Installations designed after 30th June 2015 are to comply with BS 7671:2008 incorporating Amendment 3, 2015.

About Hager Design 10 Consumer Units

The Hager Design 10 range is the entry level compliant board, designed for functionality and simplicity. As with all models in the range, there is maximum cable space available, even when a Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent protection (RCBO) is fitted. It also has a top mounted terminal rail to make the wiring of the neutral and earth connections neat and simple, multiple fixing points, and a full metal DIN rail to ensure the devices sit square and securely. Additionally Design 10 also includes cable entry knockouts designed to accommodate 25mm x 40mm, 50mm x 50mm, 100mm x 50mm trunking which allows access to the board when surface mounting cables.
