This is the Forbes and Lomax SHA/U, a single gang dual voltage shaver socket in an unlacquered brass plate with plastic insert, manufactured by Forbes and Lomax.
Note: This item comes with a choice of white (SHA) or black (SHA/B) plastic trim; please select the desired trim.
About the Forbes and Lomax Shaver Sockets
- The shaver socket from Forbes and Lomax can be fitted in bathrooms and washrooms and can charge both shavers and toothbrushes.
- The installation must be to the latest BS7671 wiring regulations.
- The Forbes and Lomax shaver sockets are available in: the Invisible Lightswitch® Range, the Antique Bronze Range, the Stainless Steel Range, the Unlacquered Brass Range, the Nickel Silver Range, the Verdigris Range, the Aged Brass Range, and the Painted Range.
- They come with a White or a Black plastic trim / insert.
- Each socket requires a min. 47mm back box (to be ordered separately).

About the Forbes and Lomax Unlacquered Brass Range
The Forbes and Lomax Unlacquered Brass plate is a living finish that starts polished but will mellow with age. It is suited to a more classical design as it mellows to a warmer colour and will continue to do so over time. For everyday cleaning, use a soft cloth but for a more thorough clean, use Brasso. The plates should be removed from the wall to prevent damage to wallpaper or paint, alternatively, a protective layer of card can be inserted behind the edge of the plate. Do not use water-based cleaners as they will leave marks and damage the plates.
- Forbes and Lomax Unlacquered Brass is available in the following: Dolly Switches, Rotary Dimmers, Button Dimmers, and Rocker Switches. Furthermore, a full range of socket outlets are available, including power outlets, European sockets, telecom and data, audio and visual, fused connection and floor sockets.
- The Unlacquered Brass range is designed a classical design as it mellows with age if left unpolished to match older brass fittings in the home.
- This is particularly suitable to period buildings where a bright brass look would be less desirable. Alternatively, the plates can easily be polished to give a shiny look should this be required.
- The depth of the tarnished effect depends on the usage of the product in the home.
- Although traditional in appearance, the variety of unlacquered brass products we have will meet all the demands of modern living.
- All switches conform to BSEN 60669-1:2018. 13amp sockets conform to BS1363- 2:2016 +A1: 2018, 2amp and 5amp sockets conform to BS546:1950
- Single plates measure 86mm x 86mm and double plates measure 146mm x 86mm
- All Forbes & Lomax switches and sockets require British standard 35mm deep flush wall boxes, but we recommend 47mm for ease of installation
